Building Controls Virtual Test Bed

The Building Controls Virtual Test Bed (BCVTB) is an open-source, freely available software that can link different simulation programs (EnergyPlus, Modelica, Radiance, MATLAB/Simulink) for co-simulation.  It can also link these programs to Building Automation Systems and to databases for model-based operation.

The BCVTB facilitates:

• innovation in integrated building energy and controls systems,
• development of new controls algorithms, and
• formal verification of controls algorithms prior to deployment in a building in order to reduce commissioning time.
